In a bizarre crossover event that challenges traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine group.
The questline centers on "strange tests and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana together with several items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns.
